This month’s featured story teller is award-winning journalist Kevin Dale McKeown, the former editor of The West Ender and editor and publisher of our recently launched community website, The West End Journal. His story will focus on “The Naming of Davie Street: Exploding An Urban Myth”. We encourage you to listen, sketch and bring your own stories and historic photographs of the West End to share with the community.
“Tales From the West End” is an evening to explore and experience our community through stories about our common past. The event is held at one of Vancouver’s intriguing historic buildings, formerly known as “Maxine’s Hideaway” and now home to a JJ Bean coffee shop.
Save the Date : The next Tales from the West End is expected to be the 3rd Tuesday in September at JJ Bean : same time 5.30pm to 7.00pm. We’re taking a break for the summer.
PLEASE NOTE we are seeking a volunteer to assist a few hours a months with this event. The role is simply co-ordinating speakers, attending the event and ensuring our on-line media partners receive updates. Please contact info@WEArts.ca if you are interested. Thank you.
